Howard Clayton
Founding member, Clayton Legal Group
Howard Clayton enlisted in the United States Army in 1992. After completing basic training and technical school, Howard served in field artillery units at Fort Hood, Texas. Before going "Green to Gold," Mr. Clayton was honored to be inducted into the Forces Command Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
As an Army judge advocate, Howard served thousands of Soldiers and civilians in criminal and civil matters across multiple litigation tours, and he helped more than a thousand clients in non-litigation legal assistance. Unique assignments at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and the Pentagon allowed Howard to develop unusual perspective and expertise in many areas, including advising senior clients, security clearance issues, discharge upgrades, and correction of military records.
Howard is a combat veteran, having served in Afghanistan.
Upon retirement from the military, Mr. Clayton was the head of litigation for one of the nation's largest real estate brokerages. In addition to managing cases ranging from routine buyer-seller disputes to bet-the-company antitrust litigation, Howard advised on myriad issues involving corporate risk and compliance, contracting issues, and cascading effects of the changing real estate broker commission rules.
When not zealously representing his clients, Howard volunteers with Civil Air Patrol and serves as a coach and judge for various youth mock trial, moot court, speech, and debate organizations.
